We had quite the Christmas break in Federal Way this year. It went by way too fast, as always, and we did more work than I think I've ever done on any break! Alex took boards at the beginning, then right after Christmas, we had 2 major projects. Along with my aunts, uncles and cousins, we relocated my grandma from Lakewood to Federal Way. That was crazy. We all decided it was a much needed reminder on how to learn how to not keep everything.
The other project was my parents' family room. The only photo I have showing the "before" look is this one of Laura staring at Alex while Brian and I scraped the popcorn off the ceiling:
That photo isn't the best representation of who did the work! Alex definitely was the main hand in this whole thing. He and my dad installed recessed lighting, crown molding and the fireplace mantle while we helped paint and decorate. We left the carpet to Empire (the jingle comes in handy after all:)
Here is the finished project, minus a mirror above the fireplace:

Amazing! Alex can fix anything: From molars to crown molding!
(and, yes, I am giggling to myself over that play on words)
Awe...no more decorative wallpaper borders? Really, though, it does look amazing. I bet your parents really love it. Way to put your vacation to use.
And Kim: LAME.
I'm impressed. That's a lot of work! I should get you guys started in my house!
Wow- that looks great! So do you hire out?
The answer is... the upstairs bathroom!
